Workshop Frequently Asked Questions

We've designed our workshops across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Beginners are new to photography or want to solidify their foundational knowledge. Intermediates have a good grasp of camera functions and seek to refine their artistic vision and technical skills. Advanced participants are looking to explore conceptual, experimental, and fine art photographic avenues. Each workshop description provides details on prerequisites to help you decide.

For most workshops, you'll need a digital camera (DSLR or mirrorless), a spare battery, and enough memory cards. Specific workshops might require additional gear like a tripod, various lenses, or a laptop with editing software. Please refer to the 'Details' section of your chosen workshop for a precise list.

All our workshops are primarily conducted in Japanese. However, our instructors are often bilingual, and we can arrange for English-speaking assistants for certain workshops upon request. Please contact us in advance to discuss your language needs.

Cancellations made 30 days or more before the workshop date will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 15-29 days will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are available for cancellations made less than 15 days prior to the workshop, though you may be able to transfer your spot to another participant. Please review our full terms and conditions for details.

Our workshops utilize both our dedicated studio space at 11-8 Higashitenma, Kita Ward, Osaka, and various inspiring locations across Osaka. Outdoor sessions leverage the city's unique charm, from serene temples and bustling markets to modern architectural marvels. Specific location details for each workshop will be provided upon booking.

What Our Students Say

“The 'Foundations of Light' workshop was a revelation. The instructor didn't just teach settings; they taught us how to truly read and shape light. My photography improved more in that weekend than in the past year.”
